An Act to repeal the Marlborough County Council Empowering Act 1965

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Marlborough County Council Empowering Act Repeal Act 1999.

2 Repeals

The following enactments are repealed:

(a)

The Marlborough County Council Empowering Act 1965:

(b)

The Marlborough County Council Empowering Amendment Act 1980:

(c)

The Marlborough County Council Empowering Amendment Act 1983:

(d)

Section 19(3) of the Rating Powers Act 1988:

(e)

Section 146 of the Local Government Amendment Act 1992.

3 Saving

Nothing in this Act affects the validity of any rate made and levied in respect of the financial year commencing on 1 July 1999, and any such rate may be made and levied, assessed, and recovered, as if this Act had not been enacted.
