Contents
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
(1)
This Act is the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Amendment Act 2001.
(2)
In this Act, the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind Act 1963 is called “the principal Act”
.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Interpretation
Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by omitting from the definition of financial year the expression “the 31st day of March”
, and substituting the expression “30 June”
.
4 Advisory Committees
Section 16(11) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the first sentence, and substituting the sentence “Every Advisory Committee must hold, during the month following the end of the financial year, a public meeting at which it must present its report on the activities of the Committee for the preceding financial year.”
5 Annual meeting for report on proceedings of Foundation
Section 19(1) of the principal Act is amended by repealing subsection (1), and substituting the following subsection:
“(1)
Within 4 months after the end of each financial year, the Board must convene a public meeting at which the Board must present its report on the activities of the Foundation for that financial year.”
6 Board to furnish estimates of income and expenditure
Section 29 of the principal Act is amended by repealing subsection (2), and substituting the following subsection:
“(2)
The estimates must be forwarded to the Minister on or before the 21st day of the first month of the financial year to which it applies.”
7 Annual balance and statement
Section 41(1) of the principal Act is amended by omitting the words “before the 1st day of July in every year”
, and substituting the words “, within 3 months of the end of each financial year,”
.
8 Transitional provision for financial year
When this section comes into force, for the purposes of the principal Act, the financial year in which that date falls begins on the previous 1 April and ends with the close of 30 June in the following year.
