These bylaws are administered in the Department of Health.
PURSUANT to section 72 of the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Health, being the Minister having the control of roads within the bounds of the public institutions established under the provisions of the Mental Health Act 1911, hereby makes the following bylaws.

1 Title and commencement
-
(1) These bylaws may be cited as the Porirua Hospital Traffic Bylaws 1969.
(2) These bylaws shall come into force on the day 3 months after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
2 Interpretation
In these bylaws unless the context otherwise requires,—
Drive, park, and roadway, have the same meanings as in the Traffic Regulations 19561
Medical Superintendent means the person for the time being holding or acting in the post of Medical Superintendent of Porirua Hospital
Porirua Hospital means the public institution established under the Mental Health Act 1911, situated within the City of Porirua, and commonly known as Porirua Hospital
Road means a road within the meaning of the Transport Act 1962 situated within the bounds of Porirua Hospital.
3 Restriction on use of vehicles
No person shall, without the consent of the Medical Superintendent or except for the purpose of taking a vehicle through a vehicle entrance which has been constructed as such and approved by the Medical Superintendent, drive a vehicle on any part of a road other than a roadway.
4 Speed limit
No person shall drive a vehicle on any road at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour.
5 Parking restrictions

(1) No person shall park any vehicle—
(a) At any time on the north side of Chapel Drive:
(b) Between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm on either side of Upper Main Drive between Chapel Corner and the junction of Upper Main Drive and the Lane.
(2) In this bylaw—
Chapel Corner means the intersection of four roads adjacent to the chapel at Porirua Hospital
Chapel Drive means the road which runs in a south-easterly direction from Chapel Corner to the point where it bifurcates into two roads north-west of the building commonly known as Rauta Villa
The Lane means the road which joins Upper Main Drive at a point opposite to and south of the building commonly known as Villa 8
Upper Main Drive means the road which runs from Chapel Corner to the building commonly known as Villa 9.
6 Penalty
7 Mental Hospital Road Traffic Bylaws 1960
On the commencement of these bylaws, the Mental Hospital Road Traffic Bylaws 1960:2 shall cease to have effect in relation to roads within the bounds of Porirua Hospital.
