These regulations are made under sections 48 and 48A of the Conservation Act 1987 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Freshwater Fisheries Amendment Regulations 2016.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983 (the principal regulations).
4 Regulation 3 replaced (Application of regulations)
Replace regulation 3 with:
3 Application of regulations
(1)
Regulation 2A, Parts 6, 7, and 9, and Schedule 1 apply throughout New Zealand.
(2)
The rest of these regulations apply throughout New Zealand other than in the Taupo District.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations 1983 (the principal regulations) to clarify that regulation 2A and Schedule 1 of the principal regulations apply in the Taupo District.
