Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration (Fees) Amendment Regulations 1998

These regulations are administered in the Department of Internal Affairs.

PURSUANT to section 88(1)(a) of the Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration Act 1995, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

  • The Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by omitting from the second column of item 6 the expression “17.00”, and substituting the expression “21.00”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 1998, increase the fee for obtaining a certified copy of an entry in a register kept under the Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration Act 1995 from $17 to $21.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
