PURSUANT to section 54 of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor- General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, by this order, which comes into force on 1 November 1998, revokes the Customs Import Prohibition Order (No 2) 19521.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order revokes the Customs Import Prohibition Order (No 2) 1952 which imposed a prohibition on the importation of left hand drive vehicles. The importation of left hand drive vehicles will now be dealt with by incorporating conditions for owning and operating left hand drive vehicles into the certification and registration procedures which apply to other vehicles.
The revocation has effect on and from 1 November 1998.
