Preamble
At Wellington this 28th day of August 2006
Pursuant to sections 201 and 423 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
These regulations are the Maritime (Offences) Amendment Regulations 2006.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 10 October 2006.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Maritime (Offences) Regulations 1998.
4 Infringement notices
Regulation 5 is amended by inserting
“in respect of an infringement offence referred to in regulation 4(1)”
after“Every infringement notice under section 423 of the Act”
.
5 Schedule 2 amended
The infringement notice in Schedule 2 is amended—
(a) by omitting
“Name:”
and substituting“Full name:”
; and
(b) by omitting
“Address:”
and substituting“Full address:”
; and
(c) by omitting
“Level 8 AMP House 109 Featherston Street P.O. Box 27 006 Wellington NEW ZEALAND”
and substituting“[address]”
; and
(d) by omitting
“OFFENCES(S)”
and substituting“OFFENCE(S)”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations adjust and clarify name and address requirements in the infringement notice prescribed by, and correct drafting errors in, the Maritime (Offences) Regulations 1998.
These regulations come into force on 10 October 2006.
