This order is administered in the Ministry of Transport.
PURSUANT to section 1(2) of the Maritime Transport Amendment Act 1998, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
This order may be cited as the Maritime Transport Amendment Act 1998 Commencement Order 1999.
2 Commencement of Maritime Transport Amendment Act 1998
The Maritime Transport Amendment Act 1998 comes into force on 25 June 1999.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force, on 25 June 1999, the Maritime Transport Amendment Act 1998. That Act enables New Zealand to accede to certain protocols to international conventions on liability and compensation for oil pollution.
