Pursuant to section 150 of the Immigration Act 1987, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

(1) These regulations are the Immigration Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2004.
(2) In these regulations, the Immigration Regulations 19991 are called
“the principal regulations”
.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 4 April 2005.
3 Application for residence visa
Regulation 4(1)(g) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression
“12 years”
, and substituting the expression“11 years”
.
4 Application for residence permit by temporary permit holder or exempt person
Regulation 10(1)(g) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression
“12 years”
, and substituting the expression“11 years”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 4 April 2005, amend the Immigration Regulations 1999 to reduce from 12 to 11 years of age the age from which chest X-rays are required for persons applying for residence visas and permits.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
