Preamble
At Wellington this 11th day of September 2006
Pursuant to section 150 of the Immigration Act 1987, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
1 Title
These regulations are the Immigration Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2006.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 12 October 2006.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Immigration Regulations 1999.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations amend Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Immigration Regulations 1999, which specifies persons who are exempt from the requirement to obtain a visa to enter New Zealand. The amendment, which takes effect on 12 October 2006, assures visa-free entry to persons holding a permanent residence visa issued by the Government of Australia, as well as those holding resident return visas.
