1 Title
(1)

(2)
In this order the Animal Products (Exemptions and Inclusions) Order 20001 is called “the principal order”
.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Certain fish taken in exclusive economic zone exempt from Act
Clause 4(1) of the principal order is amended by revoking paragraph (a).
Marie Shroff,
Clerk of the Executive Council.
Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, amends the Animal Products (Exemptions and Inclusions) Order 2000 in relation to the exemption from the Animal Products Act 1999 of fish taken in the exclusive economic zone and landed outside New Zealand as non-New Zealand fish or product.
The exemption currently applies only to foreign fishing craft licensed under the Territorial Sea, Contiguous Zone, and Exclusive Economic Zone Act 1977 and foreign fishing vessels licensed under Part 5 of the Fisheries Act 1996. The amendment makes the status of the vessel by which the fish is taken irrelevant, so long as—
(a)
the fish are taken in the exclusive economic zone; and
(b)
they are not landed in New Zealand; and
(c)
they are not claimed to be New Zealand fish or product.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2019.
Date of notification in Gazette: 12 April 2001.
