These regulations are administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2008.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 October 2008.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.
4 Monthly harvest returns
Regulation 7(6) is revoked.
5 Trawl catch, effort, and processing returns
Regulation 11(2)(a) is amended by omitting “for”
and substituting “on”
.
6 Squid jigging catch effort returns
Regulation 12(2)(a) is amended by omitting “for”
and substituting “on”
.
7 Tuna longlining catch effort returns
Regulation 13(2)(a) is amended by inserting “immediately after the set is completed”
after “fishing trip”
.
8 Licensed fish receiver returns
Regulation 16(5) is revoked.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2008, amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001 by—
removing the requirement for corrections or amendments to monthly harvest returns and licensed fish receiver returns to be made on the original forms; and
clarifying that trawl catch, effort, and processing returns, squid jigging catch effort returns, and tuna longlining catch effort returns must be completed on a daily basis.
