Pursuant to section 2(1) of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Act 2002, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

This order is the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Act Commencement Order 2003.
2 Commencement of provision implementing United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime
Section 15 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Act 2002 comes into force on 29 September 2003.
3 Commencement of provision implementing Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air
Section 16 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Act 2002 comes into force on 1 January 2004.
4 Commencement of provision implementing Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking of Persons, especially Women and Children
Section 17 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Act 2002 comes into force on 1 January 2004.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force sections 15 to 17 of the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Amendment Act 2002.
Section 15, which implements provisions of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime, comes into force on 29 September 2003.
Section 16, which implements provisions of the Protocol against the Smuggling of Migrants, by Land, Sea and Air, comes into force on 1 January 2004.
Section 17, which implements provisions of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking of Persons, especially Women and Children, comes into force on 1 January 2004.
