Preamble
At Wellington this 24th day of September 2007
Pursuant to section 42 of the Food Act 1981, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
1 Title
These regulations are the Food (Safety) Amendment Regulations 2007.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Food (Safety) Regulations 2002.
4 New regulation 4 substituted
Regulation 4 is revoked and the following regulation substituted:
4 Expiry
Regulations 24 and 26 expire on 30 October 2012.
5 Regulation 21 revoked
Regulation 21 is revoked.
6 Offences and penalties
Regulation 23(1)(n) is revoked.
7 Schedule 1 revoked
Schedule 1 is revoked.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations revoke regulation 21 and schedule 1. The regulation and schedule control the importation of enamelware or ceramicware intended to be used with food.
The regulations also extend the expiry date of regulations 24 and 26 from 30 October 2007 to 30 October 2012. Regulation 24 provides that water added to food may contain fluoride. Regulation 26 provides that oil extracted from hemp seed may be sold as food under specified conditions.
The regulations come into force 28 days after they are notified in the
Gazette.
