These regulations are made under section 339 of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Disciplinary Tribunal) Amendment Regulations 2025.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 July 2025.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Disciplinary Tribunal) Regulations 2008.
4 Regulation 37 amended (Fees)
In regulation 37, replace “$416”
with “$431”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 2025, amend the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (Disciplinary Tribunal) Regulations 2008 to increase fees relating to proceedings before the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal (the Disciplinary Tribunal). The fees payable for the following are increased from $416 to $431 (including goods and services tax):
an appeal to the Disciplinary Tribunal under section 42 of the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006 (the Act):
an application by a person for restoration of their name to the roll of barristers and solicitors under section 246(1) of the Act or to the register of registered conveyancers under section 246(2) of the Act:
an application under section 247(1) of the Act for the revocation of an order made under section 242(1)(h) of the Act:
an application for consent to employ a person under section 248 of the Act.
The fees are being increased by an inflation adjustment of 3.65%, which is based on a weighted average of the Labour Cost Index and the Producers Price Index. The new fees are rounded to the nearest dollar.
