Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2009: revoked, on 1 February 2014, pursuant to regulation 161(1)(f) of the Fisheries (Amateur Fishing) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/482).

Pursuant to section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2009.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 June 2009.
3 Principal regulations amended
These regulations amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991.
4 Interpretation
-
(1) Regulation 3 is amended by revoking the definition of Southland Fishery Management Area and substituting the following definition:
“Southland Fishery Management Area means the fishery management area described as Fishery Management Area 5–Southland in Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996”.
(2) Regulation 3 is amended by revoking the definition of Sub-Antartic Fishery Management Area and substituting the following definition:
“Sub-Antarctic Fishery Management Area means the fishery management area described as Fishery Management Area 6–Sub-Antarctic in Schedule 1 of the Fisheries Act 1996”.
5 Maximum daily number of fish
Regulation 4(6) is amended by—
(a) omitting
“approximately 46°53.74′S and 168°09.86′E”
and substituting“46°53.80′S and 168°09.80′E”
; and
(b) omitting
“approximately 46°55.21′S”
and substituting“46°55.23′S”
.
6 Dredging prohibited in Paterson Inlet
Regulation 5A is amended by—
(a) omitting
“approximately 46°53.74′S and 168°09.86′E”
and substituting“46°53.80′S and 168°09.80′E”
; and
(b) omitting
“approximately 46°55.21′S”
and substituting“46°55.23′S”
.
7 Other restrictions relating to Paterson Inlet
Regulation 5AA(1) is amended by—
(a) omitting
“approximately 46°53.74′S and 168°09.86′E”
and substituting“46°53.80′S and 168°09.80′E”
; and
(b) omitting
“approximately 46°55.21′S”
and substituting“46°55.23′S”
.
8 Dredging restrictions in Foveaux Strait
Regulation 5C(c) is amended by—
(a) omitting
“46°53.8′S and 168°09.8′E”
and substituting“46°53.80′S and 168°09.80′E”
; and
(b) omitting
“46°54.02′S and 168°14.04′E”
and substituting“46°54.20′S and 168°14.40′E”
; and
(c) omitting
“47°00.9′S and 168°13.8′E”
and substituting“46°00.90′S and 168°13.70′E”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 June 2009, amend the Fisheries (Southland and Sub-Antarctic Areas Amateur Fishing) Regulations 1991 to correct the description of fishery management areas and co-ordinates.
