Pursuant to section 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, after having regard to the matters specified in section 21 of that Act, gives the following notice.

1 Title

  • This notice is the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Amendment Notice (No 2) 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This notice comes into force on 30 September 2009.

3 Application

  • This notice applies on and from 1 October 2009.

5 Schedule 1 amended

  • (1) The item relating to black cardinalfish in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “2 223”.

    (2) The item relating to elephant fish in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “950” and “120”.

    (3) The item relating to red gurnard in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “678” and “800”.

    (4) The item relating to hoki in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “90 000”.

    (5) The item relating to John dory in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “114”.

    (6) The item relating to ling in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “1 960”.

    (7) The item relating to orange roughy in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “9 420”.

    (8) The item relating to oreos in Schedule 1 is amended by omitting “3 100”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on 30 September 2009, amends Schedule 1 of the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986 by omitting the references to the total allowable commercial catch for the following stocks: CDL2, ELE3, ELE5, GUR3, GUR7, HOK1, JDO7, LIN7, OEO3A, and ORH3B.

The total allowable commercial catches for these stocks are now set out in the Fisheries (Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 2009.
