Pursuant to sections 400(b) and 401 of the Immigration Act 2009, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Immigration (Visa, Entry Permission, and Related Matters) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2013.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 July 2013.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Immigration (Visa, Entry Permission, and Related Matters) Regulations 2010 (the principal regulations).
4 Schedule 2 amended
In Schedule 2, after paragraph 8(10), insert:
“(10A) Croatia:”.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
The regulations, which come into force on 1 July 2013, amend paragraph 8 of Schedule 2 of the Immigration (Visa, Entry Permission, and Related Matters) Regulations 2010 (the principal regulations). The amendment ensures the requirement to hold a visa permitting travel to New Zealand is (under regulation 18(1) of the principal regulations) waived for citizens of Croatia, but only if—
the person concerned is seeking entry permission and a temporary visa that is current for no more than 3 months; and
the purpose of the visit does not include medical consultation or treatment.
Citizens of Croatia will (because Croatia is specified in that paragraph, and under regulation 16(d)(viii) of the principal regulations) also not be required to apply for or obtain a transit visa before travelling to and being in New Zealand as a transit passenger.
