Pursuant to sections 61 and 69 of the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister for Primary Industries, makes the following regulations.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the National Animal Identification and Tracing (Fees and Forms) Amendment Regulations 2012.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 10 January 2013.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the National Animal Identification and Tracing (Fees and Forms) Regulations 2012 (the principal regulations).
4 Regulation 4 amended (Fees payable for certain applications)
After regulation 4(2), insert:
“(2A) The fee payable under section 43 of the Act for an application described in section 45 of the Act is $50.
“(2B) The fee payable under section 43 of the Act for an application described in section 46 of the Act that is referred to the NAIT information system access panel by the NAIT information system administrator is $150.”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 10 January 2013, amend the National Animal Identification and Tracing (Fees and Forms) Regulations 2012 by prescribing 2 new fees for applications under section 45 or 46 of the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012.
Applications can be made under section 45 seeking access to personal information about the applicant or information about an animal under the applicant's day-to-day care. The fee is $50.
Applications can be made under section 46 seeking access to core data (information provided to the NAIT organisation under a legislative requirement) and non-core data (information held by the NAIT organisation under an agreement). An application is made to the administrator of the organisation, and the administrator can determine the application or forward it to the panel for its determination. The fee is $150.
