Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 2025, amend the Māori Land Court Fees Regulations 2013 to increase the fees payable for proceedings in the Māori Land Court by 3.65%. The fees include goods and services tax.

The increase is an inflation adjustment, which is based on a weighted average of the Labour Cost Index and the Producers Price Index. The new fees are rounded to the nearest dollar.
