Pursuant to section 67 of the Electronic Identity Verification Act 2012, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Electronic Identity Verification Amendment Regulations 2014.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 28 March 2014.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Electronic Identity Verification Regulations 2013 (the principal regulations).
4 Regulation 4 amended (Participating agencies)
Replace regulation 4(e) with:
“(e) each of the bodies listed in Schedule 1.”
5 Regulation 7 amended (Retention of information relating to electronic identity credentials)
In regulation 7(2), replace
“the Schedule”
with“Schedule 2”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 28 March 2014, amend the Electronic Identity Verification Regulations 2013 (the principal regulations), which are made under the Electronic Identity Verification Act 2012 (the Act).
The Act provides for the Electronic Identity Verification Service (the Service). Among other things, the Service enables a person to verify his or her identity by electronic means in order to meet the identification requirements of participating agencies in relation to certain transactions and services. The Service also enables entities that are declared by regulations to be participating agencies to verify a person's identity by electronic means, provided that they have the person's consent to verification using the Service.
These regulations add the following entities to the list of participating agencies, declaring them to be participating agencies for the purposes of the Act:

These regulations also relocate the list of participating agencies in regulation 4(e) of the principal regulations to a new Schedule 1 for ease of reference and amendment.
