Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 30 June 2018, is made under section 26A of the Public Finance Act 1989 (the Act).
Section 26A(1) of the Act authorises the Governor-General, by Order in Council, to direct that an amount appropriated for an output expense appropriation in a Vote be transferred to another output expense appropriation in that Vote if—
the amount transferred does not increase that appropriation for a financial year by more than 5%; and
no other transfer under that section to that appropriation has occurred during that financial year; and
the total amount appropriated for that financial year for all output expense appropriations in that Vote is unaltered.
This order directs transfers between output expense appropriations for the year ending on 30 June 2018 in accordance with section 26A(1) of the Act.
Section 26A(2) of the Act requires the making of this order to be confirmed in an Appropriation Bill that applies to the year ending on 30 June 2018. A clause confirming the making of this order will be included in the next Appropriation (Confirmation and Validation) Bill. A Bill of that type is passed every year and confirms and validates various financial matters relating to the previous financial year.
This order also revokes an order that was made under section 26A of the Act in respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 2017 and that is now spent.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
Date of notification in Gazette: 28 June 2018.
