This order is made under section 22 of the New Zealand Business Number Act 2016 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister for Small Business made in accordance with section 22(2) of that Act.

1 Title
This order is the New Zealand Business Number (Primary Business Data) Order 2018.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 30 March 2019.
3 Schedules 3 and 4 of New Zealand Business Number Act 2016 replaced
Replace Schedules 3 and 4 of the New Zealand Business Number Act 2016 with the Schedules 3 and 4 set out in the Schedule of this order.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order comes into force on 30 March 2019.
This order replaces the information that the New Zealand Business Number register—
must contain as the public primary business data for every NZBN entity. That information is set out in Schedule 3 of the New Zealand Business Number Act 2016 (the Act); and
may contain as other primary business data in various other circumstances (eg, if the entity elects to provide that information to the Registrar of New Zealand Business Numbers (the Registrar) or if the information is already available on a public register). That information is set out in Schedule 4 of the Act.
The main changes are that—
some information moves from Schedule 4 to Schedule 3, namely, industry classification and website information for all entities, and director and owner information for corporate and public entities:
some information is renamed (eg,
“location identifier”
is renamed“trading area(s)”
):some information is deleted (eg, about start dates, addresses, place of activity, Australian company number, and Australian service address):
some information is added to Schedule 4 (eg, about payment bank account number).
The purposes for which information is required is as follows:
