Pursuant to regulation 9(5) of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.

1 Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Area/Rohe Moana of Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou) Notice 2019.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on 20 November 2019.
3 Revocation of this notice
This notice is revoked at the end of 26 June 2024.
4 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana
This notice applies to the customary food gathering area/rohe moana defined by clause 3 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 12) 1999 (Gazette 1999, p 1073), which is an area from Heyward Point to the Koau Branch of the Clutha River.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 (the regulations). It comes into force on 20 November 2019 and revokes itself at the end of 26 June 2024.
The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou. The area/rohe moana is an area from Heyward Point, at the northern head of the Otago Harbour, to the Koau Branch of the Clutha River.
Notice is given of the reappointment of 7 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries made the appointments at the request of Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou.
The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.

1 General
