Pursuant to section 2(1) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the Minister of Police gives the following notice.
Notice
1 Title
This notice is the Land Transport (Approved Vehicle Surveillance Equipment) Notice 2013.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Approval of NZREDFLEXdual-radar static camera system
(1)
The vehicle surveillance equipment to which this clause applies is approved as a kind of vehicle surveillance equipment for the purposes of the Land Transport Act 1998.
(2)
The vehicle surveillance equipment to which this clause applies is the NZREDFLEXdual-radar static camera system—
(a)
together with a mounting pole and housing; and
(b)
with or without all or any of the following:
(i)
a synchronised flash unit:
(ii)
a flash unit mounting pole:
(iii)
a computer network modem or data cable:
(iv)
a portable device for storing data.
(3)
For the purposes of subclause (2)(b)(iv), portable device for storing data means a device, with or without a USB interface, that records, retains, or stores data (including data relating to the system’s deployment site) in a way that allows the data to be used and to be retrieved, uploaded, or reproduced.
4 Revocation
The Land Transport (Approved Vehicle Surveillance Equipment) Notice 2011 (Gazette 2011, p 5736) is revoked.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, approves the NZREDFLEXdual-radar static camera system as a kind of vehicle surveillance equipment for the purposes of the Land Transport Act 1998. It revokes and replaces the Land Transport (Approved Vehicle Surveillance Equipment) Notice 2011.

1 General
This is a consolidation of the Land Transport (Approved Vehicle Surveillance Equipment) Notice 2013 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.
2 Legal status
