These regulations are made under section 400 of the Immigration Act 2009—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the recommendation of the Minister for Courts, after consultation with the Minister of Immigration, in accordance with section 403A of that Act.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Immigration and Protection Tribunal Amendment Regulations 2024.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 July 2024.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Immigration and Protection Tribunal Regulations 2010.
4 Regulation 15 amended (Fees)
In regulation 15(1), replace “$700”
with “$910”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 2024, amend the Immigration and Protection Tribunal Regulations 2010 to increase, from $700 to $910 (including goods and services tax), the fee payable to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal for—
an appeal under section 187 of the Immigration Act 2009 (the Act) against a decision concerning a residence class visa:
an appeal under section 201 or 206 of the Act against liability for deportation.
That fee is being adjusted to reflect increases in the New Zealand Consumers Price Index since the fee was last updated.
