This order is made under section 32 of the Ombudsmen Act 1975 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title
This order is the Ombudsmen (Ministry of Disabled People) Order 2024.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 1 December 2024.
3 Principal Act
This order amends the Ombudsmen Act 1975.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 1 December 2024, amends the Ombudsmen Act 1975 (the principal Act) to reflect the establishment of the Ministry of Disabled People as a government department and the disestablishment of the Ministry for Disabled People as a departmental agency. The amendments—
The effect of the order is that the principal Act and the Official Information Act 1982 apply to the Ministry of Disabled People.
