These regulations are made under section 16B(1) of the Family Court Act 1980 and section 187 of the Family Proceedings Act 1980 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Family Courts Fees Amendment Regulations 2025.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 July 2025.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Family Courts Fees Regulations 2009.
4 Schedule 1 amended
In Schedule 1, items 1 to 4, replace “233”

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 2025, amend the Family Courts Fees Regulations 2009 to increase fees relating to applications to the Family Court for various orders and declarations. The new fees include goods and services tax. These regulations implement a 3.65% increase to fees payable in respect of applications under—
The increase is an inflation adjustment, which is based on a weighted average of the Labour Cost Index and the Producers Price Index. The new fees are rounded to the nearest dollar.
