Proposed amendment
Harete Hipango, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 5
In clause 5(b), replace “the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child or the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”
(page 9, lines 8 to 10) with “the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and other relevant international instruments”

Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System and Children and Young People’s Commission Bill. Other international instruments are also relevant to the rights of children and young people, including the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.
