Oversight of Oranga Tamariki System and Children and Young People’s Commission Bill
Proposed amendment
Harete Hipango, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 7
In clause 7(2), after paragraph (c) (page 10, after line 40), insert:
(ca)
to resource opportunities for Māori (and other significant parties) to partner in the discharge of functions, including design, decision making, and implementation, as set out in this Act:
(cb)
to provide opportunities for, and invite proposals from, Māori (and other significant parties) on how to improve oversight of the Oranga Tamariki system:
(cc)
to enable the robust, regular, and genuine exchange of information between the Monitor, the Ombudsman, and significant parties, including Māori:
(cd)
to enter into partnerships or arrangements with Māori (including iwi, hapū, and Māori organisations) or other significant parties in order to agree on any action both or all parties consider is appropriate:
