Disability (United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) Bill
Proposed motion to divide Bill into 2 Bills
Hon Ruth Dyson, in Committee, to move as follows:
That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and Parts 2 and 3 be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words and clauses 1 and 2 there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Disability (United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) Act 2008.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
That Part 1 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 1 heading, there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Human Rights Amendment Act 2008.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Disability (United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) Bill into the following 2 Bills:
the Disability (United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) Bill:
the Human Rights Amendment Bill.
