Proposed amendment
Chris Hipkins, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
New clause 30A
After clause 30 (line 26 on page 25) insert the following clause:
30A Section 157 amended (Consultations)
(1) In section 157(3)(g), replace
“under section 156A,—”with“under section 156A; or”(2) After section 157(3)(g), insert:
“(h) enter into a contract with a sponsor for operation of a partnership school kura hourua under section 158D.”
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Education Amendment Bill, which as currently drafted does not require the Minister to consult the boards of all State schools whose rolls might, in the opinion of the Minister, be affected if the Minister enters into a contract with a sponsor for operation of a partnership school kura hourua. This Supplementary Order Paper amends the bill to require the Minister to undertake such consultation.
