Amendment Paper
Education and Training Amendment Bill (No 2)
Proposed amendment
Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 8
In clause 8, new section 127(2)(b), after “good quality”
(page 4, line 18), insert “, locally developed”
.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends the Education and Training Amendment Bill (No 2). Assessment and aromatawai information not only need to be good quality but also in a locally appropriate context. The best way for students to be engaged in the material is for the material to be relatable. Should assessment information be developed overseas or outsourced internationally, not only would it be highly inappropriate and irrational but would also risk disengaging students and fail to meet the paramount objective.
