Proposed amendment

Hon Dr Nick Smith, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

New clause 5A

After clause 5 (page 4, after line 16), insert:

5A Section 59A inserted (Judicial review of vacancy)

After section 59, insert:

Judicial review of vacancy

59A Judicial review of vacancy

Any action under sections 55A to 55D that leads to a seat becoming vacant under section 55A(2) is subject to judicial review under the Judicial Review Procedure Act 2016.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill to insert new clause 5A.
