Disclosure of personal information

This demonstration website is available to you for the purpose of reviewing and testing the content and functions on demo.legislation.govt.nz. As you access or use this demo website, you voluntarily provide personal information to the PCO and to our supporting third parties. You provide this by logging in, providing comments via the website feedback tool, emailing feedback, and by participating in related surveys.

We collect information that you provide for the following purposes:

• to improve the future legislation.govt.nz website

• for statistical purposes related to improving the future legislation.govt.nz website

• to communicate with you.

We will hold personal information in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 2020. We will only disclose this information to third parties supporting this project for the above purpose, or otherwise in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020, notably section 11.

We collect statistical information

We collect statistical information from the analytics tool Matomo, feedback submitted via our feedback tool, and survey responses. This information will not be published in a form that identifies individuals. It is saved on servers based in Europe and New Zealand.

Statistical information about your visit to this demo website helps us analyse usage of, and improve, the functions on this website.

This information includes:

• your IP address

• the date and time you visited the site

• the pages you accessed on our site, the links you clicked on, and the files you downloaded

• the search terms you used

• the general location (such as the city) you were in when you visited the site

• your operating system (such as Windows 10, Mac OS)

• the type of web browser you used (such as Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, or Edge), and

• other incidental matters such as screen resolution and the language setting of your browser.

Matomo have their own Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement that relate to the data they collect.

We comply with the Information Gathering Model Standards administered by Te Kawa Mataaho | Public Service Commission.
