Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Amendment Notice 2015
Pursuant to sections 13, 20, and 75 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister for Primary Industries gives the following notice after complying with sections 11, 12, 13, 21, and 75A of that Act.
Notice
1 Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Amendment Notice 2015.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on 30 September 2015.
3 Application
This notice applies on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 October 2015.
4 Principal notice
This notice amends the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Notice 2015 (the principal notice).
5 Schedule 1 amended
In Schedule 1, replace each item relating to a fishstock code specified in column 1 of the Schedule of this notice with the corresponding item in the Schedule.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice amends the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Notice 2015. It comes into force on 30 September 2015, but applies on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 October 2015.
The amendments vary 1 or more of the following for quota management stocks with certain fishstock codes:
the total allowable catch (TAC):
the total allowable commercial catch (TACC):
the interim deemed value rate (interim DVR):
the basic annual deemed value rate (basic annual DVR):
whether the annual DVR is a different rate for each different level by which a commercial fisher’s reported catch exceeds the fisher’s ACE, and the different rates that apply to each level (differential DVR).
The variations are as follows:
Frostfish
for FRO8, the interim DVR is increased from $0.08/kg to $0.135/kg:
for FRO9, the interim DVR is increased from $0.08/kg to $0.135/kg:
Grey mullet
for GMU1, the interim DVR is increased from $0.61/kg to $1.35/kg and the basic annual DVR is increased from $1.21/kg to $1.50/kg:
Red gurnard
for GUR3, the TAC is increased from 1 163 to 1 290 greenweight tonnes, the TACC is increased from 1 100 to 1 220 greenweight tonnes, and the interim DVR is increased from $0.85/kg to $1.53/kg:
for GUR7, the TAC is increased from 855 to 919 greenweight tonnes, the TACC is increased from 785 to 845 greenweight tonnes, and the interim DVR is increased from $0.85/kg to $1.53/kg:
Hoki
for HOK1, the TAC is reduced from 161 640 to 151 540 greenweight tonnes and the TACC is reduced from 160 000 to 150 000 greenweight tonnes:
Lookdown dory
for LDO1, the interim DVR is increased from $0.21/kg to $0.378/kg:
Oreo (includes black, smooth, spiky, and warty oreo)
for OEO4, the TAC is reduced from 7 000 to 3 150 greenweight tonnes and the TACC is reduced from 7 000 to 3 000 greenweight tonnes:
Pilchard
for PIL8, the interim DVR is increased from $0.30/kg to $0.54/kg:
Redbait
for RBT3, the interim DVR is increased from $0.25/kg to $0.45/kg:
Rubyfish
for RBY7, the interim DVR is increased from $0.21/kg to $0.378/kg:
Ribaldo
for RIB4, the interim DVR is increased from $0.15/kg to $0.27/kg:
for RIB8, the interim DVR is increased from $0.15/kg to $0.27/kg and the standard differential DVR is applied:
Red snapper
for RSN2, the interim DVR is increased from $2.05/kg to $3.681/kg:
Rig
for SPO2, the interim DVR is increased from $1.50/kg to $2.70/kg:
for SPO7, the TAC is increased from 270 to 306 greenweight tonnes, the TACC is increased from 221 to 246 greenweight tonnes, and the interim DVR is increased from $1.50/kg to $2.70/kg:
Stargazer
for STA7, the TAC is increased from 1 072 to 1 181 greenweight tonnes and the TACC is increased from 1 042 to 1 122 greenweight tonnes.
An interim DVR or a basic annual DVR excludes GST.
